Type “hvac softwares” into a search box and you get two product categories that share a name and nothing else. Knowing which one you are shopping for saves three wasted demos, so here is the short answer before anything else.

Business operations
Runs the company: customers and their service history, the schedule, the dispatch board, work orders, proposals, invoices, truck and warehouse parts, maintenance agreements and warranty coverage. Opsler is this.

Nothing on the right is on a roadmap here. It is a different discipline with different buyers, and pretending otherwise would waste your evaluation time.
Follow an HVAC Service Call from Booking to Payment
Ask what software HVAC companies use and you usually get a category list. A more useful answer is one call, timestamped, with every record it creates. This is the HVAC service workflow that everything else on this page supports — a July no-cooling call, from the phone ringing to the coverage being logged.
1:40pm — the call
A homeowner on a 96-degree afternoon says the condenser is running and nothing cold is coming out. The office opens her customer record: two visits last year, a capacitor replaced in May, the billing address different from the service address.
1:42pm — into the queue
The request becomes a job tagged URGENT, which colours the card red on the board and floats it above the routine filter changes waiting there.
1:45pm — assigned
The dispatcher drags the card into a technician's lane. It reaches his phone over a live connection while he is still writing up the previous call.
2:10pm — on the way
He taps On My Way and enters an ETA, then Mark Arrived at the kerb. The office board moves without anybody making a phone call.
2:30pm — diagnosis
Failed compressor on a fourteen-year-old system. He builds a Good-Better-Best proposal at the equipment: repair, repair with longer parts coverage, or a change-out.
2:55pm — approval
She picks the middle tier. A six-digit code arrives in her email, expires in five minutes, and she signs on the phone screen. Only the tier she chose carries into the job.
4:20pm — parts and close
The contactor and capacitor come off his truck and deduct from that vehicle at cost. Before-and-after photos go on the job. He marks it complete.
4:25pm — money and cover
The job drafts an invoice. If your account requires approval it waits for the office; otherwise it goes out and she pays from an emailed link. Parts coverage is recorded against the job with a duration.

Schedule and Dispatch HVAC Technicians
HVAC scheduling in August is really reassignment: the day was full before the emergency called. Unassigned work sits in a column on the left, one lane per technician on the right. Reshuffling the afternoon is a drag of the mouse instead of a round of calls to four trucks. Priority colours the card, so the no-heat call in January is visible in the queue instead of buried in it.
When an assignment clashes with a job the technician already has, Opsler detects the overlap on the server and notifies that technician with the conflicting job named. With that cached he can open the job, change its status, write up the work, build an estimate, raise an invoice, take a payment and shoot photos with no connection at all. It queues and uploads when he is back in coverage. Money taken at the kerb with no bars is stamped with a stable key before it is queued, which is what stops a sync retry billing the customer a second time.

A failing fourteen-year-old system is the classic three-option conversation, and HVAC proposal software lives or dies on whether the technician can build it standing next to the equipment. Track Truck and Warehouse Parts on Each Job
Contactors, capacitors, condensate pumps and filter stock move between the warehouse and the fleet all season. HVAC inventory software earns its money on the day a technician does not have to drive back. Stock lives in locations of three types: Warehouse, Truck and Van. HVAC invoicing and HVAC accounting are two different jobs, and confusing them is how contractors end up double-entering everything. Opsler bills the work; your accounting package keeps the ledger. What connects them is a file, not a wire.

A maintenance agreement is a recurring series rather than forty separate jobs. Choose daily, weekly, monthly or yearly with an interval — every six months for the two seasonal visits — and pick the days of the week or the day of the month it should land on. The series ends never, after a set number of visits, or on a date, and it is managed as one object.

Flag the job as warranty-granting, pick parts, labour or full coverage, and set 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, a year or a custom span. When she calls back in October, individual invoice lines are ticked as covered: she sees zero with the original price struck through, while the real cost still lands on the job. Coverage reads as active, expiring within 30 days, or expired, and she can check it herself in the portal.
How warranty tracking worksBoth are Pro features. Does Opsler track HVAC equipment by make, model and serial number?
Not as a separate equipment register. The customer record holds the service address, a separate billing address, contact details, notes, the full job history at that address and a count of active warranties. Equipment detail lives inside those job records — the model captured in a data-plate photo, the notes a technician wrote, the warranty entry created when the part was fitted. If you need a dedicated asset register with its own serial-number timeline and per-unit service intervals, Opsler does not have one today.
Does Opsler cover commercial HVAC and new-construction install projects?
Light commercial service and replacement work runs the same way residential does, and plenty of shops do both from one account. New construction does not fit: there are no project phases, submittals, retainage or progress billing in Opsler, and there is no takeoff or bid module. If most of your revenue comes from build contracts rather than service calls and change-outs, this is the wrong shape of software for you.
