Trade software for managing jobs, quotes and invoices

If you're a UK tradesperson, this is trades software, job management software for tradesmen, tradesman job management software, or business software for tradespeople — enquiries, quotes, scheduling, job cards and invoices, in one workflow. If you meant financial trading software, this isn’t it.

Trade-business software—not financial trading software

“Trade software” is a genuinely ambiguous search term, and most of what ranks for it has nothing to do with running a plumbing, electrical or cleaning business. If you landed here looking for stock, forex or commodities trading platforms, this page isn’t that. Opsler is field-service administration software for UK tradespeople: customers, jobs, quotes and invoices.

Which trades and team sizes this page serves

Sole traders and small multi-person teams across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, cleaning and similar service trades. Each of those has its own dedicated page with trade-specific boundaries — this page is the cross-trade entry point covering what's common to all of them, not a claim that every specialist need is covered equally.

Connect enquiries, customers and sites

A new enquiry becomes a customer record with a service address and job history attached, whatever trade the job is for — the record doesn’t change shape between a plumbing call-out and a cleaning contract.

Create quotes and move approved work forward

Build a quote from your own price book — single price or three tiers — and the customer approves it with a one-time code by email plus a signature, on one page in their own browser, before it converts into a job.

Schedule jobs and assign field staff

One drag-and-drop dispatch board handles every trade on the same team, so a multi-trade business isn’t running separate schedules for its plumbers and its electricians.

Use job cards and field updates

The job card carries the address, notes and history to the field, and photos, time and materials log against the same record as work happens — a consistent structure whatever trade the job belongs to.

Create invoices and track verified status

The invoice generates from the completed job with line items already attached, and its status moves from booked through to paid on the same record — nothing re-entered into a second system.

Browser-installed app, offline, portal and communication boundaries

Opsler installs from a supported browser — not a native App Store or Google Play listing. Offline use is scoped to creating estimates and invoices, not the whole app. Customer access is a token-based link, no account required. SMS is a planned bring-your-own integration and is not live on any plan.

VAT, MTD, accounting, certificates and specialist-tool boundaries

Opsler doesn’t calculate VAT, file for Making Tax Digital, or produce trade certificates of any kind (Gas Safe, F-gas, electrical or otherwise). There is no live Xero/QuickBooks sync, no payroll or CIS handling, and no construction project-management functionality — accounting is a formatted CSV export for manual import, and pricing stays in US dollars.

Trade software evaluation checklist

Four things Opsler does, and four it deliberately doesn’t. Take the same eight questions to any trade software you’re evaluating.

Trade software questions

Software that runs the customer, quote, schedule, job and invoice workflow common to most UK trades — plumbing, electrical, HVAC, cleaning and similar service businesses — rather than being built for one trade specifically. If you searched "trade software" expecting financial trading platforms, this isn't that; it's field-service administration software for tradespeople.

In practice, on Opsler, they overlap heavily and the difference is emphasis rather than capability. Job management software describes the full quote-to-invoice workflow in general terms. A tradesman app emphasises the mobile, browser-installed experience specifically. Trade software, this page, is the cross-trade entry point that routes you to whichever specific angle — or specific trade, like plumbing or HVAC — matches what you actually searched for.

Completely different category, despite the shared word. Trade-business software, what this page describes, manages customers, jobs, quotes and invoices for tradespeople — plumbers, electricians, HVAC engineers. Stock or forex trading software manages financial market positions. If you landed here searching for the latter, you want a different kind of platform entirely.
