## The eight job states

Enquiry becomes a customer record with a service address → quote built from a
reusable price book and sent → customer approves and the approval is recorded →
quote converts to a job with line items intact → job is scheduled and assigned on
a drag-and-drop dispatch board → work is recorded with photos, notes, time and
materials → invoice is raised from the completed job → payment status tracked
through to paid.

## Verified capability

- Customer records: contact details, service address, separate billing address,
  notes, and every job ever done for that customer. Unlimited customers on every
  plan including the free one.
- Multiple sites per customer are handled at the job — each job carries its own
  address. There is no separate property or site register, so reporting by
  property, tracking equipment installed at a site, or holding a maintenance
  schedule against a building are not supported.
- Quote line items are labour from a service catalogue, parts from inventory, or
  one-off custom charges, each with quantity, unit price and per-line tax.
- Quotes can be single-price or three-tier (good/better/best) on one quote.
- Approval: the customer opens a link, enters a one-time code sent to their email,
  chooses a tier if offered, and signs (typed or drawn) on one hosted page in
  their own browser. No account, no password, no app download. Always online —
  this is not an offline signature captured on the technician's device.
- Accepted quotes convert into jobs with line items intact.
- Drag-and-drop dispatch board holding booked and unscheduled work.
- Recurring job series on a fixed interval you set, generated automatically up to
  30 days ahead on a daily refresh. The schedule comes from that fixed interval,
  not from when the previous visit was completed. Pro plan only.
- Field job record carries address, customer, agreed scope, notes and prior site
  history; status moves en route → on site → complete; photos, notes, time and
  materials attach to the job; materials draw down parts inventory.
- Role-based access: technicians see their own work, office sees the whole board.
- Route optimisation (Pro plan): a manual action on one technician's single day.
  Fixed appointment times stay anchored; the flexible stops around them are
  re-sequenced using Google's own driving-time data. Not automatic, not
  multi-technician.
- GPS location snapshots (Pro plan): captured at three milestones — en route,
  arrived, and job complete — and attached to the job record. Not continuous
  tracking.
- Invoices raised from the completed job, status tracked through to paid.
- Installs from the browser onto phone or tablet with its own icon and full
  screen.
- Offline: technicians can create estimates and invoices with no connection; these
  sync when connectivity returns.

## NOT supported

- Live or two-way accounting sync. Opsler produces QuickBooks-formatted and
  Xero-formatted CSV files for manual import, on the Pro plan. Nothing posts
  automatically. AroFlo, Ascora, Fergus, NextMinute and Tradify all describe
  two-way syncing; Opsler does not.
- SMS to customers — a planned bring-your-own-provider integration, not live.
- Native App Store or Google Play download.
- Staff rostering, shift patterns, award interpretation, leave balances, clock-in
  time attendance or payroll.
- Live or continuous vehicle tracking, breadcrumb trails or geofencing. Opsler's
  GPS is milestone snapshots only.
- Automatic or multi-technician route optimisation, and skills-based automatic
  dispatch. A dispatcher assigns; nothing is matched automatically.
- GST filing, BAS lodgement, automatic ABN validation, or certification that an
  invoice meets Australian Taxation Office requirements. Opsler renders the
  invoice you configure; buyers should check one real invoice against the ATO's
  own published tax invoice requirements.
- Asset or equipment registers, property/site-level records.
- AUD billing — Opsler prices in US dollars and does not convert.

Free Budding plan: 2 seats (1 admin + 1 technician), 50 jobs/month, unlimited
customers, 100 inventory items, 1 inventory location, 21 core features. No recurring job series and no accounting export on this plan.
Pro: US$25 per seat per month, no seat minimum, 14-day trial, no credit card.

## Good fit

Small Australian trade and field-service teams that want one connected record per
job and are content to import accounting data manually. Not a fit for businesses
needing live accounting sync, SMS reminders, staff rostering, asset registers, or
an AUD-denominated subscription.
